A Community with a Wide Array of Backgrounds and Interests

Students come from a variety of backgrounds and professions--business executives, educators, doctors, artists, homemakers and architects, for example. They have been involved in organizational consulting, environmental studies, mediation and dispute resolution, economic development, health care, community organizing and visionary leadership.

They come from around the United States as well as from Venezuela, Canada, Taiwan, Germany, Sudan, Mexico, and Argentina. Some students are returning to the work force after a time away. Others are starting out on their careers or changing careers.

Although their interests and backgrounds may vary, students have several characteristics in common. they are all highly motivated and creative, drawn to the challenges of self-designed study and lifelong learning.
