Egypt Study Abroad Trip Egypt: Expedition Into the Dawn of Time Farouk Seif, Ph.D. For centuries, ancient Egypt has captured the imaginations of countless numbers of scholars. Her celebrated monuments and myths are the inextinguishable lanterns of a timeless wisdom. The Whole Systems Design Program is pleased to offer a study abroad in Egypt during the Spring quarter of 1999. Intention The intention of the expedition is to provide a rare opportunity for Antioch students to fully engage in learning activities that evoke an imaginative understanding of the Egyptian worldview. It is to create a historical and cultural context within which participants can give meaning and purpose to their personal lives and rigor to their academic interests. Through an imaginary dialogue with Pharaonic Egypt and meaningful interactions with present Egyptian communities, students will be able to conduct their inquiry and gain insights into design and wholeness (see syllabus for further detail).
