Preparing for success in a complex and changing world.
Whole Systems Designers are creative and innovative professionals able to
work with large-scale, multi-dimensional systems. They operate with high
ethical and aesthetic values grounded in practical and responsible action.
Professionals skilled in whole systems design focus on the processes that
create and redefine how skills are applied, not on narrow skills and techniques.
Being able to work creatively in this way can be transferred across all settings.
Technical skills alone can become outdated or limited to a narrow field of
application. A whole systems design education is education that transcends many
disciplines.
Antioch Seattle's Whole Systems Design Program is recognized nationally
and internationally for its unique structure. The program's degree process mirrors
the design process as a whole, which is again mirrored in each student's work.
It is a whole systems design for learning, reflecting the principles of the
program put into practice. In this way, theory and practice are integrated and
process is harmonious with content.
